Event organisers Loaves and Fishes Tasmania have moved the event to June 27 on the advice of Hydro Tasmania after the Gorge suffered flooding in recent days.
The Winter Solstice Splash marks one of the shortest days of the year and was originally meant to be held on June 20 before it was pushed back a week due to the flooding.
Solstice Swim is set to return after proving to be a popular event which raise much-needed funds for emergency food relief.
The organisation provides up to 3400 kilograms of food every week, from school breakfast supplies, to fresh produce and ready-to-eat meals in Launceston alone.
The event has attracted many brave swimmers, including Launceston's Think Group, who are raising money to help out those in need.
Participants have to be 18 years of age and raise at least $50, with registrations available at loavesandfishestasmania.org.au.
