A man has been taken into police custody following the discovery of a body at Ulverstone on Tuesday morning.
Police attended a house just after 10.30am and took a man into the back of a police car, about 150 metres down the same street a woman's body was found hours before.

EARLIER
Police are investigating a suspected murder in Ulverstone early on Tuesday.
A Tasmania Police spokesperson said the woman was found dead at a Main Street address after police were called about 3am.

"Police are currently speaking with witnesses, and forensics officers are examining the scene," the spokesperson said.
"Further specialist forensics officers are travelling from Hobart to the scene."
The section of Main St between Shaw St and Eastlands Drive will remain cordoned off for some hours.
EARLIER:
Police have closed Main Street in Ulverstone after a body was found early on Tuesday morning.
A Tasmania Police spokesperson said officers were currently on the scene on Main Street, between Shaw Street and Eastlands Drive, after police were called to a residence about 3am.
The spokesperson said one person has died.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area around 3am is asked to call Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers Tasmania anonymously on 1800 333 000.
