A 21-year-old man has been bailed on a charge of possessing child exploitation material after a house at Mount Direction was searched yesterday.

A team of police from Launceston and George Town, in conjunction with the High Risk Child Exploitation and Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team searched the property before arresting the man.

Tasmania Police Detective Inspector Craig Joel said, while executing the search, multiple guns were also seized.
"A 49-year-old man from the same address will be proceeded against for firearms offences," he said.
Detective Inspector Joel said the 21-year-old was due to appear in court at a later date.
The 21-year-old man's arrest comes after a 24-year-old Longford man and 23-year-old Launceston man were charged with child exploitation related offences in May.
The Longford man was bailed to appear in court on August 11 and the Launceston man appeared on June 2.
