Taking to North Hobart Oval, the side will be mentored under the watchful eye of former North Launceston TSLW coach Dean Smith, who is excited about their prospects.

"We started off with over 50, cut it back to 24 and a couple of extra girls are going to continue training just for the experience," he said.

"We obviously had to make some tough calls this week, so we gave the girls a call and asked whether they would be interested in sticking around and training with us, to which they were very responsive and excited to continue to develop their footy regardless.

Old Scotch representative India Viney will captain the side, with Bridgenorth's Jess Morley and Meander Valley's Danielle Saltmarsh her deputies, with all 12 NTFAW sides fielding at least one player in the squad.

Smith said this was something he was keen on doing to ensure all clubs remained invested in the process.

"They've bought in 100 per cent, we've had girls that we've unfortunately had to tell them to come back next year but the ones that are [playing], they're all busting to play," Smith said.

The youthful side features four 2020 TSLW players in Viney, Carly and Sophie Farrow (North Launceston) and Makenna Hillier (Launceston), while Viney's new side Old Scotch features the most representatives in the team - also four.
