His side, the Southeast Devils, are 5-2 and sit at second on the ladder through eight rounds.
"We've got a few players back from injury so our season's just starting to get rolling now which is great," Cocker said.
The 20-year-old point guard is averaging 17 points per game.
Cocker said his team's main focus was on ladder-topping City Rockets, who boast the talents of Deans and Lachie Brewer.
"We've just got to focus on stopping their main players ... they've got one or two really good players but the rest are role players," Cocker said.
"It's just about bringing our A-game, go head-to-head with their best players - that's the most important thing.
"The thing that drives me the most is going up against the best players."

The two teams will face each other on Wednesday.
With the high amount of junior basketball conducted at the Elphin Sports Centre each week, the men's division one seniors are only able to take to the courts at 9pm each week. But Cocker took the late game time in good, humorous spirits.
"Nine o'clock - past my bedtime ... it's tough but you get through it," he said.
"[You] come in - play your game then you go home."
The Launceston Lightning and former Basketball Tasmania high performance player has been playing for the Devils since juniors - developing a closeness to the club in that time.
"I've just been around the group for so long and I've known the members for so long that they're just like another family to me," Cocker said.
"It's a place I can come and I don't have to worry about anything.
"We've had people come and go, but the ones that stick around are usually like the ones that are like family."
