The former Launceston City no.1 was sent off after the final whistle of Olympic's NPL Tasmania round-seven draw with Clarence Zebras at Windsor Park after an altercation with opposition players.
Nash was subsequently charged with using discriminatory language against a Zebras player and hit with the 12-month suspension from playing.
The club appealed the sentence which has since been reduced to 12 weeks, six of which are suspended.
Olympic argued that there were mitigating circumstances around the incident including Nash having been concussed earlier in the game and having also apologised to the player concerned.
"I think it's a fair verdict because the incident was certainly out of character," coach Alex Gaetani said.
"Dan is a respectful human but unfortunately humans make mistakes and words come out which they don't really mean.
"He was pretty stressed out about all this but feels a lot better now."
Gaetani said the original punishment may have brought about a premature end to the popular keeper's NPL career.
"Twelve months may have ended his stint of playing at this level but this means he gets to play a good chunk of the rest of the season.
"And it's an acknowledgement that it was a slip of the tongue and he's not that sort of person."
Seventeen-year-old Will Ferrall has donned the gloves in Nash's absence during which time Olympic have lost 2-1 at home to Olympia and 6-1 at Devonport on Saturday when the reigning champions ruthlessly targeted the inexperienced keeper.
A succession of crosses were unleashed into the visitors' penalty area with Strikers also operating a shoot-on-sight policy which delivered Joel Stone's long-range strike on the half-hour.
The thrilling 2-2 draw against Clarence on May 15, in which the visitors' Matt Pace was also shown a red card, remains Olympic's only point from eight league games this season, although Fletcher Fulton's strike at Valley Road maintained the side's record of scoring in every game.
After a bye next weekend, Olympic will play eight of their next nine matches in Launceston.
Aside from a round-11 visit to KGV, Gaetani's side will play seven games at Windsor Park plus a round-15 trip to Launceston City.
