Following Friday's National Cabinet meeting, Gutwein said the offer for the hub was still open depending on Victoria's COVID situation.
He said he planned to discuss the matter with McLachlan personally Friday evening.
"At the moment, it's a day-by-day proposition in terms of Victoria," Gutwein said.

While Victoria's lockdown extension is set to end before Bellerive Oval's June 13 match between the Kangaroos and Giants, Gutwein said alternative arrangements were in place should the lockdown be extended.
The Premier said chartered flights for players and necessary personnel would be flown in and out of Hobart, pending Public Health advice.
"At this stage ... we would expect Victoria would come out of its lockdown before that date," he said.
