Man charged after alleged stand-off with police
A 37-year-old man will face the Burnie Magistrates Court following an alleged four hour stand-off with police at Ocean Vista on Wednesday night, police report.

The man has been charged with:
- Unlawfully carrying a dangerous article in a public place,
- Possessing a firearm when not the holder of a firearm licence of the appropriate category
- Using a firearm whilst under the influence of alcohol or another drug.
- Carrying a firearm with the intent to resist arrest.
- Failing to take all precautions to ensure safekeeping of firearm.
- Possessing a controlled plant or its product.
- Using controlled plant or its product.
The man has been remanded in custody to appear in the Burnie Magistrates Court on Friday morning.
