Staff have been left "extremely traumatised" after shots were fired at a McDonald's in the state's South overnight.

Police attended Bridgewater McDonalds about 1.30am Saturday in response to a firearm being discharged through the drive-thru window, towards a staff member.
The suspect had already fled the scene when police arrived.
A short time later a 35-year-old man was located nearby and taken into custody.

A firearm was also seized.
In a statement, police said no one was physically injured in the event, but staff were left extremely traumatised.
"The incident is extremely serious however it is an isolated incident and appears to be random," police said.
The man was due to appear at the Hobart Magistrate's Court on Saturday afternoon, but police later confirmed he would not appear until Sunday morning.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
Police are asking members of the public who may have observed a man acting suspiciously in the Bridgewater area between 12am and 2am on Saturday to come forward.
The suspect has been described as having has distinct red facial hair, wearing a black puffer jacket, black and white Adidas track pants and florescent gloves.
