The former wicketkeeper was a part of many firsts for Riverside, which was formed as the Cormiston Cricket Club in 1948 before taking up the Riverside moniker in 1955.

"I played in Riverside's first-ever game in 1955, I played in their first-ever NTCA premiership in 1969-70 which was Reserve A and played in their first-ever NTCA first-grade premiership in 1971-72," he said.

"There's some great memories there. I still take an interest in the club of course, follow them, and next season will be the 50^th anniversary of the first A-grade premiership, so that would be an omen I suggest."

"In 1980-81, Riverside won all three premierships and that was a highlight but sadly they haven't won one since so they are overdue.

"The club is in good hands, the juniors are doing well and they've got probably the best club cricket facility in Tasmania, maybe even Australia."

Last season, the Blues came within 22 runs of winning their first A-grade flag since the three-peat 40 years ago but they were stopped by Launceston, who also became the first club since them to win all three.

Humbly describing himself as a wicketkeeper who only batted when he had to, Curtis-Flynn opened the batting occasionally but said he had little success.

Despite playing down his on-field impact, Curtis-Flynn certainly gave his all to Riverside Cricket Club and the NTCA as a whole, working as an administrator for 10 years before David Fry stepped into the job.

It was this work that saw him named in both Riverside's and NTCA's hall of fame as well as being awarded an Australian sports medal almost a decade ago.

Working at Telstra for 40 years outside of cricket, the long-time administrator is hopeful of a big night at the October 1 NTCA grand reunion.

"It's going to be a great occasion in October with the reunion and we are hoping to get as many Australian representatives here was we can - the Boons, the Pontings and all those people," he said,
