A secret Sunday night speakeasy will pop up in Launceston from May until August. A map will lead to a dimly-lit doorway for entry. Prohibition inspired cocktails, limited release Tasmanian wines, local brews and Stelo snacks will be on offer. Visit eventbrite to get tickets.

2. Harvest Market
May 15
The Harvest Market operates every Saturday from 8.30am until 12.30pm at Cimitiere Street car park. Though this week will be just as tasty as every other week, keep an eye on next week's market. On May 22, the market will celebrate World Bee Day - which falls on May 20.
3. Jed Appleton
May 15, tickets $23.50
Jed Appleton will honour Bob Dylan in a full band concert to held on May 15 at 9pm. Appleton is a seasoned musician and has released nine albums over one decade. Appleton will play some of Dylan's classic hits, as well as showcase songs from his new album The Divide. You can see Appleton at The Royal Oak. Tickets are available via Oztix.
4. Launceston Planetarium

The Launceston Planetarium will tell the fictional story set in the future of the first human mission to mars in Mars 1001. The story is delivered from the perspective of a reporter who covers the mission. The story may be fictional but it is set just far enough in the future to be believable.
5. Jurassic Creatures
May 7-23, tickets $36.50 per person or $120 for a four-person family
Jurassic Creatures will stomp into Country Club Tasmania in May, bringing with it over 30 animatronic, life-size dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures. The show will also provide children with an expert digger outfit to unearth their own fossils, as well as a range of arts and crafts activities, rides, giant bug displays, classes, and jumping castles to add to the immersive experience.
6. Theatre Festival
May 19-23
The Australian Musical Theatre Festival will run from May 19 to 23. Visit amtf.org.au for details on the many events that will run as part of the festival.
7. AFL Match
May 15, 2pm
Two teams will lock horns at UTAS Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks have had luck in Launceston of late, winning their only game of the last five against Adelaide at UTAS. The Kangaroos, on the other hand, lost a close contest to Melbourne last time they were in the Apple Isle, making for a tantalising match-up.
