The Commission of Inquiry into the state government's response to child sexual abuse in institutional settings has opened its submissions process.

Individuals and groups will be able to make submissions to the commission until Friday, July 2.
According to its freshly built website, the commission wants to hear from victim-survivors and supporters as well as other individuals, groups or organisations with insights that can inform the commission's understanding of current challenges or gaps regarding government responses to child sexual abuse.
Attorney-General Elise Archer said a light needed to be shone on these matters.
"There is nothing more important than ensuring the vulnerable in our community are protected and we recognise the extraordinary courage it takes for someone to come forward and report sexual abuse," she said.
Premier Peter Gutwein announced the commission of inquiry last November, after it emerged that a former nurse at the Launceston General Hospital, James Geoffrey Griffin, was an accused paedophile.
The commission is due to submit its final report to Governor Kate Warner by August 31, 2022.
