The 33-year-old man was driving a ute on Flinders Island when he crashed on Wingaroo Road near Markana Park just after 6pm Monday.
Police investigating the crash said the man, who was the only person involved in the crash, was not wearing a seatbelt when he "failed to negotiate a slight right hand continuous bend in the gravel road".
His car slid, before flipping a number of times and landing on its roof.
