Roth was an assistant coach for both teams, and reportedly sent a text to Raptors announcer Matt Devlin during the game letting him know he was cheering all the way from the Apple Isle.
"It's 10am in the morning there and he's watching the Raptors and the Grizz," Devlin said during the game.
He and co-announcer Jack Armstrong had high praise for Roth, even complimenting his "good cigar collection".
They also acknowledged the rising profile of the NBL, and like many non-Tasmanians, showed great fascination with the JackJumpers moniker.
This comes weeks after Toronto Raptors scouts were spotted at the Silverdome at an NBL game between the New Zealand Breakers and Adelaide 36ers in which NBA-bound Josh Giddey landed a triple-double.
