The 26-year-old Tasmanian has played in all three of the Tigers' flags since arriving in 2017, adding 77 games to his 12 in Sydney colours.
After missing a block of eight games with injury last year, Nankervis has played every game of the 2021 season to date and is averaging a career-high 17.9 disposals a game.
"I think he's been one of the great recruits of the last decade with what he's done for Richmond," Lloyd said on Footy Classified.
"Since he's come to the club, they've won three premierships.
"If he wasn't there, I don't think they'd win premierships without Toby Nankervis.
"That's how important he's been for Richmond."
Nankervis played for Lilydale and North Launceston before being drafted with pick 35 in the 2013 national draft.
