Tasmania Police's High Risk Child Exploitation Unit arrested and charged the 23-year-old yesterday, with production and possession of child exploitation material.
Police allege that over the course of two years the man contacted children across Australia and the United States and coerced them to take images and videos of themselves.
It is alleged the images were sent to the man electronically.
The man was bailed with strict conditions and will appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court on June 2.
