Tasmanian Police in a statement issued on Friday morning said two 18-year-old males, a 21 year old, a 28 year old and a 30 year old would be summonsed to appear in Hobart Magistrates Court at a later date to face the charge.
Two cells at the prison complex were set alight on Wednesday night and quickly extinguished by prison officers.
Police, fire and emergency services also attended the incident.
Police remained at the scene long into the night to parole the prison perimeter.
Corrections Minister Elise Archer on Thursday said the quick action and professionalism of prison officers meant serious injuries were avoided.
Community and Public Sector Union state general secretary Thirza White said prison officers turned up to work each day expecting danger.
"As it stands, there are no physical injuries which is good, but it's important to remember that it's an incredibly dangerous and stressful job with a high incidence of PTSD," she said.
