EARLIER:
A motorcyclist is in a serious condition following a crash at Chasm Creek on Wednesday morning.
A Tasmania Police spokesperson said emergency services were called to the crash at the intersection of Sea Eagle Street and the Bass Highway about 6.15am.
A motorcyclist was taken to the North West Regional Hospital in a serious condition.
The spokesperson said there would be delays for traffic travelling in a westerly direction due to the crash.
"Traffic is expected to back up to the Howth round-a-bout, and that delays are being experienced and will continue for some time. Only the left hand lane is open to traffic," the spokesperson said.
Emergency services remain on the site conducting investigations.
