Greg Richardson, defence counsel for Jack Harrison Vincent Sadler, of Riverside, confirmed that a "definite trial" would start on Tuesday.

Mr Sadler's recent court appearances have been via video from Risdon Prison.

Justice Robert Pearce said he would take Mr Sadler's plea to the indictment on Tuesday.

He has previously pleaded not guilty.

Mr Sadler was clean shaven and dressed in an orange T-shirt, maroon track pants and a pair of Asics runners.

He answered "Yes I am" when asked if he was Jack Sadler.

Mr Richardson said he would meet with the Director of Public Prosecutions Daryl Coates SC today to sort out agreed facts.

"If there is anything we can't resolve we'll come to you," he said to Justice Pearce.

Mr Sadler is alleged to have murdered Mr Anderson-Brettner in Riverside in August 2018.

A witness appeared before Justice Pearce and was told to return at 9.45 am on Wednesday.

A 14 person jury is expected to be sworn in at 10am on May 4.

Mr Coates said a trial plan had been prepared.
