Former Launceston forward James Gillow announced himself to the NTFA, booting eight majors as Longford defeated Bracknell 13.8 (86) to 9.13 (67).
A high-quality game in front of a massive crowd for retired Redlegs day, Longford took the game away from Bracknell in the third quarter with a four-goal-to-one term, stamping their authority on the contest.
Gerald Maher Medallist Gillow booted five of his majors in the first half, looking set for a huge day in front of the sticks as teammate Luke Murfitt-Cowen kicked three.
Matty Dennis starred again in defeat for the Redlegs, with the ruckman kicking two goals in an around-the-ground performance.

Gillow's efforts were trumped by Rocherlea's Brayden Claridge and Josh Holton with the pair combining for 19 majors in their side's 30.17 (197) to 1.0 (6) trouncing of George Town.
Young star Claridge booted 10 and the experienced Holton nine as the 2020 finalists picked up their first win of the season, almost doubling their percentage.
The goalkickers were some of Tigers' best alongside Josh Ponting while Austin Maynard kicked the Saints' lone major in the last.
Daniel Scott and Ben Bell were named George Town's best.
Bridgenorth picked up consecutive wins, defeating Hillwood 13.14 (92) to 10.8 (68).
The Parrots trailed at quarter-time until Rohan Sergeant booted four and best-on-ground Cayb Woods kicked three of his own.
Josh Moore kicked four on return as Austin Lisson and Zac Oldenhof were named the Sharks' best.
Scottsdale snuck past South Launceston in the last 30 seconds to win 8.8 (56) to 7.13 (55) under lights.
Chev Deacon kicked three for the winners as Daniel Berry and Leigh Harding booted two for South.
