Taking out last season's condensed NTFA Shield, the 2017 TWL North premiers have made the grand final in every season they've taken part in and have been backed to do it once again.
The competition's coaches selected prominent flag-winning sides as the ones to watch with seven backing 2019 premier South Launceston and six predicting TSLW victor Launceston to take out the league in its first year.
With several Tasmania Devils players coming to Old Scotch, six coaches have Deb Reynolds' Thistles on their watchlist, while the improvements of Bridgenorth and Old Launcestonians impressed several leaders between them.
That leaves the top-five finals series as an interesting proposition with one of the coaches' favourites set to miss out altogether.
MORE NTFAW
"I'm pretty sure the top three will be South, Launnie and Scottsdale ... and Scotch have recruited very well as well, so that doesn't leave a lot of spots left for the five," Hillwood coach Dwayne Beeton said.
His side is one of three brand-new entities to join the competition this season, alongside Deloraine and Longford, while Launceston joined the regional league after the TSLW disbanded.
Despite being restricted to using 11 of last year's TSLW players, half of the league's coaches agree that Mikayla Binns' Blues will still be dangerous.
"It's going to be an interesting competition to be honest with new sides in, an experienced side like Launceston in and sides within our league picked up," Bridgenorth coach Bobby Beams said.
"Obviously Launceston are going to be thereabouts, South the 2019 premier [are always strong], Scottsdale are always thereabouts and I really think Old Scotch have recruited well and OLs were always tough last year in the COVID competition."
