After starting a solstice swim at the Gorge a few years ago in celebration of the shortest day of the year, in 2020 Launceston business owner Jade Child decided to use the event as an opportunity to fundraise.

"Cold water is fantastic for the body and it really does make you feel alive," he said.

Participants have to be 18 years of age and raise at least $50, with registrations available at loavesandfishestasmania.org.au.
