The move comes under a promised $3.2 million funding boost for the community services sector, billed by Premier Peter Gutwein as a plan that will help vulnerable Tasmanians and ease the cost of living.
He said legislation to review and modernise the current car registration fee would be introduced by the end of the year.
"Our vehicle registrations are already the lowest in the country, and this will further help to smooth household bills across the year and ease the financial burden on Tasmanians, with quarterly payments to be available from 1 July if we are re-elected," Mr Gutwein said.
"We will also investigate more frequent car registration payments in consultation with the community advocacy sector...This will be based on a review of interstate systems, third-party solutions and the success of online billing and text message reminders."
He said the government would work with TasCOSS into the future on job growth.
"To meet industry projections of an additional 4000 jobs by 2024, we will partner with TasCOSS on a range of measures to support the sector's growth."
This included the establishment of a Workforce Development Fund to deliver a "rapid boost" to the community sectors training capacities, $100,000 to recruit and attract workers into the sector, and also provide $50,000 for a scholarship fund.
