A man was shot after he confronted two people outside his vehicle in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The 52-year-old man was outside his Invermay house at the time.
He sustained serious injuries and is at the Launceston General Hospital in a serious, but stable condition, a Tasmania Police statement read.
Police are looking for the two people believed to be involved in the shooting and would detectives would like to speak to anyone who saw two people acting suspiciously in the Mayne Street, Invermay, area about 1.30am.

One of the suspects is described as 170cm, slender build, wearing a black hoodie and dark coloured track pants. The other suspect is described as 175cm tall, heavy set, wearing a large black jacket with a hood.
