Community members have continued to voice their disapproval for a potential 38-lot subdivision at Ecclestone Road in Riverside.

The project by Growth Development has been a source of contention for residents after the 2019 application was halted due to its proximity to a wedge tailed eagle nest on-site.
The community has concerns over the impact of the development on the the animals which call the at risk vegetation home.
The new application for 36.93 hectare site featuring 38 lots is an increase from the 2019 application with 21.3 hectares of vegetation proposed to be cleared for the six-stage development, with the remaining 15.5ha not to be developed at this stage.

Community member Alison Marshall, whose property neighbors the potential subdivision, said the development would destroy a valuable corridor for native wildlife.
"I was even more surprised to find [the new development] would have a more devastating impact because it has a bigger footprint [than the last application]," she said.
Ultimately, Ms Marshall said she would like to see the low density residential zone totally protected from development.
"To be honest, I don't think it should be subdivided at all, I think it should be somehow totally protected from development but I don't think that is realistic," she said.
Alternatively, the group would like to see a conservation covenant on the land to protect the high ecological value on it as the Tasland conservancy does and allow the remaining area for dwellings.
The development closed for public comment on March 31 but locals have formed a Friends of Ecclestone Road Facebook Group in opposition to the proposed development.
"I wasn't surprised, I had conversations with various neighbours in passing and almost every one expressed concerns ... and it just took off," Ms Marshall said.
If approved, the development is estimated to begin in early 2022, with the majority of the subdivision anticipated to be completed prior to 2027.
