The first round of action at Elphin Sports Centre saw the City Rockets men's take off in a hot win against Japara Renegades last week.

After winning last year's competition, the Rockets appeared to have not lost a step, crushing Japara 105-46.
Recent JackJumpers signing Sejr Deans lit up the scoreboard with 26 points, as did Lightning veteran Ben Rigby (17pts).
Earlier that round, the South East Devils won a back-and-forth contest against Southside Rebels.
SUPERCARS:
Things remained tight throughout the game, but some late fouls allowed the Devils to sneak away to a 65-53 win.
In the women's competition, the Rebels Blue and Red teams experienced mixed results on the courts.
Against the Renegades, Blue kept a lid on things to win 50-19, aided by 27-point match from Stephanie Edmunds.
Red, however, found themselves on the receiving end of a 70-25 beating from the Westside Trojans.
Northern Hawks netball shooting supremo Ashlea Mawer led the Trojans to victory atop of a 30-point night.
The two Devils teams, Patterson and Smith, squared off in the other women's match with the former finishing as the victor 42-32.
The team's namesake Lisa Patterson was the standout for her side, notching 24 points in the win.
Round two will get started on Wednesday night at Elphin.
