Tasmania is set for its second bout of snow for the year this week.
Meteorologist Anna Forrest said the weather bureau has forecast hail and snow above 700 metres across the state from tomorrow.
People could expect to wake-up to frost on their windscreens on Wednesday with sub-zero temperatures forecast for much of the north and north-east of the state.
Ms Forrest said people should brace for a second cold front crossing the state overnight on Wednesday, bringing statewide showers.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"Snow with this cold front is limited to above 1100 metres at this stage," she said.
Fresh, gusty conditions are expected in most areas of Tasmania this week.
Ms Forrest added that rainfall totals for the five days leading up to Friday are forecast to be up to 80 millimetres in the west and up to 15 millimetres elsewhere.
