IN OTHER NEWS:
The group is holding a luncheon on Wednesday with a variety of state politicians from all major parties, including the likes of Michael Ferguson, Michelle O'Byrne and Peter Whish-Wilson, as well as community group members to discuss potential funding.
It is this popularity with community groups that Launceston RSL secretary Peter Williams will enable the organisation to receive the required funding.
"Everything that we've organised is fundamentally good to go, all we're waiting for is funding," he said.
Mr Williams said that the RSL provided extensive community benefit which went far beyond what the title suggested.
"This organisation isn't just the RSL, it is a whole bunch of other people ...it will be benefit to a number of community groups," he said.
"It will also give us another revenue stream as we can rent out the rooms and [it is hard] to find conference rooms here in Launceston."
