The under-18 women's side dug itself a hole against South Australia in the first half of their match, ultimately falling despite a second-half comeback.

Poor shooting from Tassie plagued the side through the first portion of the game.

Rubi Gray did, however, once again show glimpses of her prowess, weaving through defenders in transition.

Some solid defence by Launceston Tornado Taya Webb also helped the side stop the bleeding, but the side still trailed 52-37 at the half.

An impressive second half comeback from the team saw everyone contribute in scoring, but it wasn't enough to stem a South Australian team who upped the ante at every turn.

After coming within one score, South Australia put the foot down to fell Tassie 83-74.

A back-and-fourth battle against the South Australian team ended with a convincing win for the men's team, who were victorious 74-57.

The former kept the latter at arm's length throughout the contest, aided by a number of early fouls committed by Tassie.

Launceston's Lachlan Brewer and Lachlan Maynard both looked dominant at various points in the game.

This included a splash of a three-pointer by Maynard in the second to bring his team close to over-taking South Australia.

In the third, Tassie turned up the heat on defence, limiting the fouls and upping the turnovers.

A steal by Luke Brown ended with Ryley Haywood sinking a two as he hit the floor to take the lead.

South Australia never lost pace until late in the third, nonetheless Tassie would go on an 8-0 scoring romp.

A three-point dagger from Brown saw his side to an 11-point lead after three-quarter time.

The fourth brought with it much of the same, with Tasmania able to get out to a 20-point lead which was enough to stave off a last-second South Australian comeback attempt.
