The building is owned outright by the club, with repair work needed to ensure the club can continue to host both local and national events.
Club president Maxine Viney said the club had been working for four years to try and get the funding needed to get the works done.
"We also host disability sports here as well, we've got the Transplant Games coming here next year ... we've got school groups that come ... so we well and truly would love this all to be up to scratch," she said.
"We have over 3000 through here every given year."
The work is estimated to cost $340,000.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Labor spokeswoman and incumbent Bass MHA Michelle O'Byrne said the funding would also go towards managing "issues around lighting and some ceiling work" to make the premises fit for purpose.
"This was the first indoor bowls club in operation in Launceston and Tasmania, and this is a really important opportunity to support the club so that we have a place in Launceston where people can still play bowls in those colder winter months," Ms O'Byrne said.
Fellow incumbent Bass MHA Jennifer Houston said that for some disabled visitors, it was the only accessible venue available.
