On Friday The Examiner reported that snow would fall as low as 600 meters in parts of the state.
The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast a high to move over the southeast of the mainland during Monday, extending a ridge over Tasmania late as winds ease.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"A low will weaken to the west of Tasmania Tuesday morning, with north to northwesterly winds strengthening as a cold front approaches the west late evening."
"The front will cross Tasmania early Wednesday morning, followed by a trough."
Snow has been forecast to continue in some regions, with falls expected above 1200 meters in the Central Plateau district on Monday.
