The funds would go towards installing solar panels and solar hot water, as well as lighting issues and fixing the grease trap and kitchen upgrades.
Rhonda Smith and Juanita Simpson are on the board of the community centre, and said the funding would go a long way towards improving the facility.
"Just to be able to have that, to be able to be open every day of the week again would be brilliant," Ms Smith said.
"I work with a lot of fundraising people that come in, and be able to supply them with something cheaper ... is going to make so much difference, we can drop the hall hire down so it's more affordable for more people to come in."
"We're limited with what we can offer now, but it will mean we can take on more for people and it would make everything more affordable," Ms Simpson added.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Deputy Labor leader Michelle O'Byrne said it would help reduce operational and hiring costs for community groups.
"They are genuinely things that will make this place more economically and environmentally efficient to run," she said.
"There are groups that hire it for fundraisers, groups who meet here regularly, there's the bowls club next year, bingo, a whole host of community operations live out of this building.
"This will make it easier for them, but also sustainable for the volunteer management of the club."
