The match was initially scheduled to be played at the Silverdome, however, the reservation was cancelled due to NBL team the New Zealand Breakers using the facility at their temporary home.

However, those plans were also altered when the NBL was required to change its timetable due COVID outbreaks in Queensland.

Despite this, Hawks captain Danni Pickett said the side still intended to play up the coast.

"It's out of our hands and I think we've got a home game against the Cavs in St Helens in a couple of weeks," she said.

"It's a bit frustrating not knowing when that first game in front of our home crowd is going to be.

"Looking to the next double-header [at Silverdome in early May] as well - we don't know if that's set in concrete yet or whether the NBL will kick us out for that weekend.

"We're just taking it one week at a time at the moment."

The side won convincing matches against Waratah and Karana in rounds one and two, but Pickett said intensity across all quarters was a point of improvement for the younger team.

"As a team, we've got really high standards so if we come off it at a quarter break and we haven't committed to that 15 minutes ... or we haven't converted off a few turnovers then we really want to get that back," she said.
