Police received two separate reports from Poplar Parade. The first was at 8.50pm on Saturday night when the rear window of a parked Subaru was destroyed.
The second was reported at 7.20am when a resident noticed the rear window of a bus had been damaged overnight. The bus was a company vehicle.
Both residents reported hearing loud bangs, and it was believed that both incidents were committed by the same offender, or offenders.
Inspector Michael Johnston said it appeared the shootings were random.
"There's nothing in our initial investigations to suggest that there's been any form of targeting," he said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"At this stage, it certainly looks random to us."
The three firearms incidents in the Launceston region over three days were also not believed to be linked, and involved the use of different types of firearms, according to Inspector Johnston.
"The ballistics or the items that were recovered would suggest it's been a different type of weapon in each of the three incidents," he said.
Inspector Michael Johnston said the amount of firearms incidents in the region was a concern.
"Police take all reports of alleged firearms discharge seriously and assure the community that all incidents will be investigated thoroughly," he said.
"Although no injuries were reported from these incidents overnight, this is the third firearms incident in Northern Tasmania is as many days, which is understandably concerning to police and the community.
"At this stage in the investigation, these incident do not appear to have been targeted, and were potentially an offender or offenders shooting at parked vehicles."
