The netballing body announced in February its intent to acquire a licence for a team for the 2023 season.
Netball Tasmania chief executive Aaron Pidgeon said naming suggestions could be submitted across the next two weeks.
"After that, we'll get a shortlist of names that are appropriate and are available for business registration and so forth and get them to vote on a final outcome," he said.
"We are looking for names that are distinctly Tasmania, though we are open to all suggestions, and that represent a team of united and fierce females."

Pidgeon said giving the team a uniting identity would further aid the push for a team.
"We think an identity's important in branding our programs at Netball Tas around that name and branding so we have some alignment around that SSN team," he said.
