Tasmania Police seized stolen property, vehicles, firearms, drugs and cash after a raid on a West Launceston house last night.

Launceston Criminal Investigation Branch detectives and officers from the Northern Road and Public Order Service attended the address and conducted a search on Tuesday night.

Also found was a homemade firearm, a quantity of cash, a small amount of drugs, other stolen property and two other vehicles wanted by police for other matters.
A Youngtown man, 28, and a Newnham woman, 34, were arrested at the scene and were detained at the Launceston Police Station while investigations and forensic examination continued.
Police charged the 28-year-old man with firearm offences, property offences, drug offences, attempted escape, assault police, resist police and breach of a Family Violence Order.
The 34-year-old woman was charged with firearm offences, drug offences, property offences and breach of bail.
Both individuals were detained to appear at the Launceston Magistrates Court on Wednesday night.
