While some pegged Longford as the Chieftains' final foes, it will be Trevallyn who stand between them and TCL immortality.
This came after a thrilling five-run semi-final upset against the Tigers at Cressy last weekend.
Trevallyn captain James Whiteley said his team was buoyed by their convincing win over a deadly Longford side.
"They [Trevallyn] played team cricket as they have the last three or four weeks - we're really starting to hit our straps at the right moment," he said.
It seems like the season's gone for an eternity this year ... it's a great achievement of the club to make three consecutive finals.

Trevallyn's recent clutch performance included a top-five batting line-up who tallied 184 runs collectively against a typically stingy Tigers bowling attack.
"If we do lose a couple early, I'll back our middle order to come through too," Whiteley said.
On the other side, Chieftains player-coach Liam Reynolds said the side welcomed the challenge of Trevallyn, and wouldn't have it any other way as his side seeks a coveted three-peat.
"It seems like the season's gone for an eternity this year ... it's a great achievement of the club to make three consecutive finals," he said.
However, Reynolds wasn't going to allow hubris from the last two finals cloud the focus of the Chieftains going into this weekend.
"We've got to make sure we can't dwell on previous ones [grand finals] and focus on the job at hand," he said.
"Trevallyn have been a fair-form side over the whole year, you look through their performance and it's really consistent.
"I think they deserve their place in the final and we just can't take them lightly, they've got a very potent top-six batters.
"If they can post a high score - cricket's a funny game - we've just got to be wary."

Whiteley, on the other hand, wasn't phased by a devastating top order of Hadspen that welcomed the talented Tasmanian batsman Dane Anderson to its side this season.
"We'll worry about ourselves, they're only human," Whiteley said.
"They'll give us chances, we'll take them and we'll be fine."
While the Tigers aren't playing in the final, the match will be played at their ground from 11am on Saturday.
