The lunch, hosted by Migrant Resource Centre Tasmania on March 21, invited members of the community to make new friends over a bite to eat.
MRCT's projects leader Scoutt Winter - working on a healthy eating project - said the event was a dual celebration.

"First of all, we are celebrating Harmony Week which is a lovely opportunity to come together and share some food, make connections, meet new people, and try some new flavours we may not have had before," she said.
"And the other purpose is to talk about healthy eating ... what we are really focusing on today is sharing healthy food and celebrating local produce as well."
Ms Winter said a lot of research had shown first generation migrants ate healthy but some influences crept in when their children went to school or wanted treats like other children had.
"What we are really trying to do today is make it joyful and fun to share healthy food and to celebrate different cuisines together," she said.
MRCT's bilingual culture worker Estifanos Bariamichaen said people sat together in harmony and shared some tasty food from different backgrounds together.
"I think [the event] is very important," he said.
"I think people can get knew experiences and new knowledge [through the lunch]."
