Tasmania's regions will put their best young basketballers on the courts at Kingborough this weekend for the Tri Series.

Boys and girls from the North, North-West and South between under-12 and under-18 age groups will compete in the competition, which has seen a growth in participation across the last decade.
According to Basketball Tasmania, participation in the series has more than doubled in eight years from 24 teams in 2013 to 52 in 2021.
ELSEWHERE IN SPORT:
Tasmania JackJumpers head coach Scott Roth will also attend the series to scout young future talents for the minted NBL team.
The first and second teams in the under-14 competition will secure spots for the national championships in Casey, Victoria in September.
Under-16 and under-18 teams will also be competing for nationals in their respective age groups set for later in 2021.
Games will start from 8am on Saturday running until 8pm at the Kingborough Sports Centre.
The series will continue in the North-West at the beginning of May, before heading to Launceston in June.
