A WOMAN who has pleaded not guilty to causing death by negligent driving on Christmas Day 2018 faced the Launceston Magistrates Court on new drugs and driving charges on Thursday.

Elizabeth Anne Quill, 35, of Swan Bay, did not plead to charges of breaching bail by driving in Kings Meadows on March 18 to using an unregistered motor vehicle and using a motor vehicle with no premium cover.
She also appeared on Thursday to face a count of possessing a controlled plant or its products namely cannabis and possession of a thing, namely three smoking devices that are designed to be used in connection with smoking of a controlled drug.

Justice of the Peace John Boyd bailed Ms Quill to reappear on May 5, the same day as facts and sentence will be heard on two separate driving charges laid since the fatal collision.
She has pleaded guilty to driving on the East Tamar Highway at Dilston when a prescribed illicit drug was present in her system on March 1.
She has also pleaded guilty to driving in Ruby Place, Ravenswood, on July 28 last year while her driver's licence was suspended.
Ms Quill will also face a hearing on May 5 on a count of driving with an illicit drug in her system in York Street on November 28, 2019, after pleading not guilty.
Police allege Ms Quill was driving under the influence of ice at Turner's Marsh on Christmas Day 2018 when her Ford Laser collided head-on with a Kia Rio in which 18-year-old Jayden John Pearce was a passenger.
Police allege Ms Quill failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to keep left of a dividing line and failed to take all reasonable precautions to avoid a collision.
She was also charged with driving a motor vehicle with amphetamine and methylamphetamine in her system.
The Examiner reported in 2018 that the crash occurred about 200 metres north of Wattle Ridge about 4pm
The matter will be heard on May 11.
