Comedian, author, playwright, actor and director Ben Elton will bring his talents to Launceston in April.
The comedian - known for Blackadder, All is True, We Will Rock You, and his 16 novels - last toured Australia in 2006.
Elton said his touring hiatus was due to bringing up his family.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"I missed [touring] constantly," he said.
"I decided to go back on the road but of course coronavirus got in the way."
However, the comedian is now back with his new show.
"[The show is] about being as hilarious as I can be," he said.
Elton said it will be an emotional experience to be back on stage.
"The emotional fact that we are back together in a theatre, and sharing that experience ... I'll be feeling very excited and emotional."
The comedian is deeply non-superstitious and does not have any pre-show rituals, but he does enjoy a cup of tea and going over his material.
Ben Elton Live will show at the Princess Theatre on April 6.
