
UPDATE 5.30pm:
Emergency services have located and winched a 14-year-old boy to safety.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter, along with a ground party comprising Police, SES and ambulance personnel were deployed to the Meander Falls Track area around 12.30pm Friday.
About 2.45pm the Police Rescue Helicopter located the party and winched a paramedic to the group.
A 14-year-old boy was then winched from the area and transported to the Launceston General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

EARLIER 2pm:
A rescue helicopter has been called in for an injured bushwalker in Northern Tasmania.
A Tasmania Police spokesperson said it was believed a person was part of a walking party when they slipped on the track and suffered non-life-threatening back injuries.
Police, State Emergency Service and Ambulance Tasmania have been called to the incident with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter also responding.
