Kellie Janine Anne Roach, 42, pleaded guilty to 36 counts of dishonestly acquire a financial advantage and 8 counts of attempting to dishonestly acquire a financial advantage between Januaey 2, 2019 and January 24, 2019.

Police prosecutor Russell Forsyth said that Ms Roach had asked her mother to her home in late December 2018.

"She took a photo of her Heritage Isle credit card," he said.

"The defendant, who was suffering financial hardship, sent a text message to her daughter that she had permission to use the details to purchase a $1543 passage on the Spirit of Tasmania for a family gathering," Mr Forsyth said.

During January 2019 Roach used the card on a further 42 occasions to buy goods and services from Telstra, JB Hi-Fi, Apple, Skymesh, to pay fines and car registration.

The court heard that she was unsuccessful on a number of occasions because businesses needed further identification such as a driver's licence.

In a police interview Roach said she was on a high and when she realised she had been successful she kept attempting purchases.

Roach, who was legally unrepresented, told Magistrate Simon Brown that she suffered bipolar disorder and her prescription drugs were not settled.

"I got on a high and when I realised what I was doing it was too late," she said.

Mr Brown ordered a pre-sentence report and postponed sentencing until April 20 at 2.15 pm.
