Police are continuing to speak with witnesses who saw an erratic driver on the Midland Highway near Epping Forest in the lead-up to a fatal pedestrian collision at 9pm on Saturday.

The 43-year-old Launceston driver of the BMW pulled over and stood in the way of traffic before he was hit and killed.
Inspector Darren Hopkins said police suspect alcohol and "maybe drugs" were a "significant factor" in the incident, but they were awaiting toxicology reports.
Police are continuing to request further dashcam footage.
