A long lost Brett Whiteley drawing has been found after being misplaced in the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery for more than four decades.
But, the museum first purchased the drawing 42 years prior for $800 and there was no further record in its collection and it had never been displayed.
Launceston mayor Albert van Zetten said the collection audit has enabled in-depth analysis of QVMAG's extensive collections.
