Police intercepted the duo near Prospect towing a trailer with an all-terrain vehicle loaded with allegedly illegally taken deer and wallaby in the early hours of March 3.
Police on patrol located the man and woman travelling on the Bass Highway at 1.50 am and will allege the pair had wildlife in their possession that was not taken in compliance with the Wildlife Regulations - including deer taken without the relevant permits.

Police said they would also allege the wildlife was taken using spotlighting from the side-by-side ATV.
Police seized wildlife, firearms, ammunition, and the ATV as part of the investigation.
Parks and Wildlife officers assisted the police with the seizure.
Police said the man and woman were expected to be charged with several wildlife and firearms offences in the coming days.
Police reminded recreational hunters that hunters must comply with all permit requirements and relevant rules and regulations when taking wildlife during deer season.
In an unrelated matter, Tasmania Police are investigating a report of a theft of a firearm from an unlocked vehicle on February 26 at Invermay.
Police reminded firearms owners to secure firearms and ammunition or face prosecution if firearms were stolen.
