Adding to a growing list or reported sightings, a dolphin has once again been spotted swimming in the heart of Launceston.
The latest sighting occurred on Wednesday morning about 8.30am in the North Esk River, in the vicinity of Boags Brewery.
The Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment had previously confirmed that marine mammals that visit the upper reaches of Tasmanian estuaries generally remain for periods less than a week.
It is not known if the latest dolphin is the same one spotted in January, or a different one.

According to DPIPWE, coastal marine mammals such as dolphins and seals are known to visit Tasmania's large estuaries and river systems, often coinciding with seasonal movements or changes in the abundance of food sources within estuaries such as the Tamar.
Limited visibility and the confined nature of some river systems may affect a dolphin's ability to avoid vessel interactions so people who use the river are asked to be vigilant and keep their distance.
