Remembering Animals

The Northern Tasmanian Light Horse Troop will be hosting a War Animal Remembrance Day ceremony on February 27, from 10.30am at the Campbell Town Cenotaph. The day commemorates all the animals that served during times of war such as camels, donkeys, pigeons, dogs and horses. A number of ex-service members will also be in attendance.

Live Performance

Friends of Launceston Library is supporting a series of live performance events, Live at the Library, which will provide regular shows for families and children. Super Stories with 'Happy Habits' will be held February 27, 10.30am at Civic Square. The event is free. Tackling Fire

The Royal Society of Tasmania's northern branch is hosting Professor David Bowman for the public lecture Pyrogeographic thinking the key to tackling the global fire crisis. Professor Bowman works in the field of pyrogeography - the study of the past, present, and projected distribution of wildfire. The lecture will be held in the meeting room at QVMAG, Inveresk. Junior Cattlehandlers
February 26-28, from 8.30am-7pm
After the pandemic resulted in the cancellation of many Tasmanian agricultural shows, the first field day event will kick off at Deloraine this weekend. The Tasmanian Junior Beef Expo will include workshops, demonstrations and activities.
Crop Maze
Weekends from 27 February, adults $15, children $10, family $55
Back better than ever, the Rupertswood Farm Crop Maze at Hagley has returned in a COVID-safe format for 2021. The maize maze has been lovingly curated by farm owners Rowan and Anna Clark. The family-friendly event is open for five weekends, starting Saturday, February 27.

Street Eats
February 28, from 10am-2pm, free
World Street Eats held at Civic Square every 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month - until April - will have tastebuds tingling with the chance to try many different cuisines from destinations such as Japan, Korea, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Italy and England.
