A 61-year-old Tasmanian man has been charged with child abuse and bestiality offences after a search of his Hobart home on Tuesday.

The joint operation between Australian Federal Police and Tasmania Police found significant amounts of child abuse material.
The search was conducted after reports to the Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation via the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in the United States.
IN OTHER NEWS:
A mobile phone and laptop were seized and will be subject to further forensic analysis.
Police also seized a number of items from the boot of the man's car, which police suspect may be indicative of additional offending or plans for further offending.
The man has been charged with the following offences:
- Possessing child abuse material accessed using a carriage service, contrary to section 474.22A of the Criminal Code 1995 (Cth);
- Possessing bestiality product, contrary to section 74 of the Classification (Publications, Films and Computer Games) Enforcement Act 1995 (TAS).
The maximum penalty for these offences is 15 years' imprisonment.
The man appeared in Hobart Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
He will reappear on March 30.
