Three days later, Trinder's proven star Mystic Journey will take a critical step in her All-Star Mile campaign when she runs in the $200,000 Blamey Stakes at Flemington,

Mystic Journey, the All-Star Mile winner in 2019, would need to win the Blamey to earn a wildcard for this year's $5 million race at Moonee Valley on March 13.

In the meantime, Trinder is hoping that Supalopo can measure up to the toughest assignment of his short career in Northern Tasmania's biggest race.

A winner of his past five starts in weaker races, Supalopo is being kept safe by bookmakers at $12.

"He's in really good form but I just question whether it's a year too soon," Trinder said.

"Even if he can't win, I'm sure he's going to run well.

"He's a horse that stays - he puts his head on his chest and continues to gallop away with a good tempo change.

"We'll just have to see whether he's mature enough."

Trinder said drawing a wide barrier was perfect.

"I'd rather him out there than being cluttered up on the rail," the trainer said.

"He'll settle in the second-half of the field and be able to blend in."

Hobart Cup winner Double You Tee retains favouritism but there has been good money for Barade ($4.60 to $4) and Classic Weiwei ($9 to $7.50).
